What do Superman and Brodus Clay have in common?
If you enjoy your mythos, you know that both Superman and Clay come from distant planets. The alter ego of Clark Kent was an expatriate from Krypton, while Clay hails from Planet Funk, which I understand is where George Clinton takes residence during the winter months.
In addition to being intergalactic visitors, both Superman and Clay have unique capabilities that allow them the opportunity to save an entire universe (the WWE Universe in Clay’s case). For Superman, his incredible strength, immeasurable speed, and awe-inspiring agility render most criminals and evil-doers incapable of success, so long as he remains a cognizant guardian and champion of the peace.
For Clay, however, the very idea that he is “The Funkasaurus” might be the very concept that allows World Wrestling Entertainment to fructify creatively.

So much for Kane making a return that would galvanize fans of his legendary character.
Fans were displeased with the ending of the January 2 Raw, and were quick to keelhaul World Wrestling Entertainment for the surreal coda to the Kane/John Cena/Zack Ryder incident. In case you missed the ending-in-question, Kane channeled the spirits of Boris Karloff, Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger and Pyro by brutalizing Ryder, asphyxiating Cena, and then attempted to pull Ryder into a fiery hole in the ring before Cena swooped in to save Ryder from that abysmal fate.
After Kane’s return on December 12, the optimism from Kane fans has slowly declined. After all, his returning story has involved a half-baked reason for targeting Cena (Cena isn’t true to himself!), a laughably supernatural attempt to engulf Ryder into a makeshift Hell, and a demonstration of a new move (the asphyxiating grasp) that Cena seems to shake off within sixty to ninety seconds.
At least his Rocketeer helmet looks cool.

There’s an age-old riddle that I just made up. It goes, “When is Brock Lesnar just like Snooki?”
It seems absurd in the minds of fight-fans and wrestling buffs alike that a World Heavyweight Champion of twenty-three months, one who made Shane Carwin tap out, no less, is comparable to a reality show trollop that looks like the hideous result of a hazy one night stand between an Oompa Loompa and Klinger from M*A*S*H*

For Boston Red Sox fans, the 2004 World Series was a special occasion. Obviously, they won baseball’s World Championship, having swept out the St. Louis Cardinals, but it meant a little more than just that. Those who know their baseball history know quite well that the Red Sox were a jinxed franchise, a doomed ship treading over murky waters.
Before 2004, Boston had not claimed a world title since 1918. In the interim time between, the “Sawx” had fallen short many a time, occasionally in gut-wrenching fashion. They called it “The Curse of the Bambino”, because the Sox had the nerve to trade away Babe Ruth to the Yankees, with many believing the 86-year curse was precipitated by the trade. It was a metaphorical broken mirror, because bad luck, as Johnny Cash would say, was now blowing on Boston’s back.
